Hello.....

I am starting this blog to help to motivate myself even more on this weight loss journey. I started just after Christmas 2009 and I know it will be a long journey but one I lknow will be worth it in the end. This has been a long time coming....

A Very Proud Sisterly Moment

As I have mentioned previously on my little blog, I am the eldest of three girls. I have always struggled with my weight whereas the other two haven't and have both been far more sporty whilst at school than I ever thought was normal. I spent my PE lessons in the school library with my best friend....

Here are my baby sisters, Kheira on the left and Harriet (the youngest) on the right.

My middle sister has gained some weight steadily over the last 18 months or so what with changing jobs, moving out and and then moving house again amongst other things. It doesn't help that her lovely boyfriend can scoff for England and not gain a thing! She had an "incident" over the weekend that has scared her into realising she needs to start thinking about her health and has asked me for advice on starting her very own Weight Watcher's Journey. So after a very scrummy tea of spicy chicken and rice, I showed her the WW website and she was hooked!

She has now signed up for a monthly pass and is coming to her first meeting with me next week :) Right now I'm a very proud big sis that she's come to this decision of her own accord, I've already had texts, a phone call and a message left by her on the ww message boards! Will I come to regret helping her?! We'll soon find out!

Off for my eyebrow's waxed tonight, and then Nando's with Mr B for tea. I just can't keep up with the excitement sometimes you know ;)

Bank Holiday Boredom....

I appreciate that many of you have got today off and are out gallivanting with family or friends or maybe even both, but I'm not impressed as I'm at work today! I have however managed to get a whole day's worth of reports and figures done in three hours and then been able to enjoy catching up on blogs and scribbling down a few ideas for my very own blog.

We've had a very busy weekend full of food, family and fun. Date night was lovely except for being sat next a very very loud table of drunk teenagers in the Indian restaurant. The food was great and well worth the points I had saved up for it. I didn't manage to eat all mine which has to be a first when it comes to curry! Grandma and Auntie Jayne came over on Saturday an we had a lovely day just pottering around, drinking lots of tea and coffee and knitting. We had tea at an Italian that's opened up near us. It's supposed to be the oldest pub in Britain and is also supposed to be haunted. So me being me, I decided that I didn't want to go to the loo in case I got got by a ghost. Some times I wish my imagination wasn't this active....

Sunday was great too. We were invited to a family reunion type meal at in honour of Mr B's cousin coming over from Australia. I really did feel for her! I know her Dad is from Barnsley but I bet he isn't as broad as some of the family that was there yesterday!! I struggle sometimes and I'm from not too far away! Poor girl! It was lovely to spend the day together and have lots of laughs and some OK food, although me and Mr B's cousin are convince the mash on the carvery was actually wall paper paste....

We're off tent shopping later on today as we both want to have a go and have see a very bargainous one in the "Go Outdoors" shop. I never thought that I'd see the day when I'd be voluntarily sleeping in a tent!

I have until 3pm to work and I have my trusty book, carrots and diet coke to keep me going until a meal at my sisters tonight.

Hope every one's having fun what ever you get up to,

Many Thanks...

My WW Mojo is back! Hoo Ray!!! Merci beaucoup and all that. Fresh fruit and veg seem to have done the trick, thanks for the inspiration Roo!

Thank you for replying to my last post about the C 2 5K challenge, I've not started it just yet but I'm planning on starting on Monday at the gym. There's far too many hills in Barnsley, especially the one long constant one that we live on now (they're the worst kind if you ask me!) so I think the treadmill is the way forward.

I'm planning on another gym session tonight before Mr B takes me out for our date night. That'll be three times in one week! Some might call it dedication to the cause but in all honesty its just a pre-emptive strike on the yummy Indian food that I shall be scoffing this evening, NOM NOM NOM! I have planned what I'm having as we had a take away from there when we first moved in and it was beautiful and not at all greasy. So it's veg balti, and sharing a rice and a coriander naan with Mr B. Is it bad to be planning tea at 9.45 in the morning???

So far so good with the old points and activity points this week. As I said, I've been to the gym twice already this week, and one of those times was for a swim. I've not swam for a couple of months and forgot how much I love it. To me it doesn't feel like exercise as water relaxes me so much. It's definitely time for a new swimming cozzie though, it's now quite loose on me. I'll keep my eye out in the end of summer sales, has any one seen any nice ones anywhere?

Had a bit of rubbish news at WW meeting on Wednesday. Our leader is going to be looking after another ladies meeting's for a while so she won't be taking our meetings for some time. GUTTED! Jayne is fantastic, she's always positive and encouraging no matter what the scales are showing. She is such a nice person who lives in the "real world" and knows that people want a glass of wine or three and that sometimes McDonalds is your only option! However, the leader that will be looking after us is also very lovely. Some of the older ones in our group are a bit wary of her as she's a bit full on and bouncy all the time but I don't always see that as a bad thing. I think it might be what we need for a kick up the bum to be honest.

I thought it was about time that I put a couple of pics of me in again. Again I'm at work (my boss is elsewhere today!), so excuse the desk furniture and the massive bags under my eyes (all down to Dr's advice give to Mr B about his tablets). I will put some more pics of me and other random things on here in the near future, I'm hopefully getting a new laptop soon and then I can put all our pictures on there so they're in one place.

So here I am as of toady at 3 stone 10lb gone:

The curls are all natural by the way lol.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday every one, I think we might be braving York tomorrow as Barnsley are playing at home!

Who's Stolen My WW Mojo????

I am making an appeal for my mojo to be returned as soon as possible, and could the thief please make themselves known so I can severely ignore you the next time you go on a rampage!

I'm just not feeling "it" so far this week, I really have no idea why. I'm still sticking to points and earning activity points but all sense of accomplishment and general feeling of awesomeness has vanished in the last few days. I just feel like I'm going through the motions rather than enjoying the challenge. The only thing I did differently was I ate some "party" food at our house warming on Saturday, then similar tea on Sunday. I think I need a few days of good old fruit and veg to get me back on the straight and narrow. As Roo has been saying in her blog (http://theadventuresofcomicbookgirl.blogspot.com/), I need to fuel my body properly for a few days and see how I get on. I CAN get through this blip.

In all fairness the party food wasn't that bad as I'd snuck many WW friendly items onto the already groaning table, and I didn't drink too much as it was an all day thing and I'm a light weight in the drinking stakes! It was great to see so many people that I love all in one place at the same time, plus my sneaky middle sister had said she had to work and I was very disappointed but it was all a cover up and she turned up! I'm sure I haven't been that excited to see her since the day she was born (the novelty of a baby sister soon wore off!).

Mr B has decided that he'd like to try camping, so Sunday saw us taking a trip to a huge camping shop near us. We looked at that many tents that by the end of it they had all merged into one giant super tent and I couldn't tell the difference! We have decided on one though so I think that could be a job for one of the next few weekends, fingers crossed the weather holds out for us to try the tent out!

I'm now back on proper shift times at work (7-3) which is a bit of a pain in the bum to be honest, it means no more watching Heir Hunters on a morning. How very rude! I thought I was tired coming back on reduced hours, but the real hours are a night mare and it's only day two!!! I really struggled this morning as the novelty of yesterday morning has well and truly worn off. The doctor said I would be tired, but I thought I'd be ok with it and could take it in my stride. Really didn't think I'd fall asleep whilst tea was cooking in the oven!!!

Right I better go and look busy for a while

Thank You :)

I just have to share with you the hilarity that was my WW meeting tonight. It basically turned into a bit of a coffee morning as our leader lost the cable for her scales and had left her other scales at home in the hall way. She couldn't apologise enough but we're all very nice people and said we'd let her off just this once hahahaha.

Not much to report back so far this week. My first three days back at work have totally worn me out, I'm glad I'm only working reduced hours and I've got Friday as a holiday day. I'm finding it difficult to be as active as I normally am at work as my boss is sat at the desk opposite me this week. I'm also struggling to get enough water too. I have a summer cold that's making me sweaty and thirsty and have a very gorgeous Rudolf nose. It just seems no matter how much I drink I still want more, determined to get rid of the evil cold though!

Been to the gym twice so far this week, I think three times might be pushing it due to getting sorted for our house warming on Saturday. Still no idea how many are coming and what food and stuff to get! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGH! I might have a look through the ww website and my books see if there's anything I could adapt. Managed to con my youngest sis into helping me go shopping on Friday morning seen as she's still on summer hols, that should be interesting and possibly expensive!

My main reason for blogging tonight is due to a blog award I've received from the lovely gorgeous Linz. It really made my day to receive this so thank you so very very much.

Complimentary Strangers...

Right then boys and girls lets start as we mean to go on shall we?! Two days on the trot of me back blogging, I didn't think I'd see the day again!

Today has been my first day back at work, and I honestly can't praise my boss enough. He is a fantastic bloke and is really pushing the boat out to make sure I'm ok, plus for this first week back I'm working reduced hours which is a massive bonus. I really can't believe how tired it's made me though. It's great to see people happy to see me at work though, all in a very genuine way too which is lovely.

Tonight was my first time back at our gym since it was re-furbished over the weekend. It all looks very snazzy and new, and they've got a few more machines which is great. The only down side is that I now can't find any of the machines I use! Saying that, I reckon the extra wandering around being lost helped me to earn an extra half activity point!

So anyway, today I had a very random experience with the pest control guy at work. He comes quarterly and today he told me I had changed so much since last time he saw me and I looked fantastic. We got chatting about how I'd lost weight etc and after we had finished chatting he told me I was an inspiration and he was going home to sign up to WW tonight! I think it's brill, I'm so pleased that he has decided to make a decision to change his life for the better.

Right boys and girls I shall speak to you soon

New House and New Jeans!

Well hello there my lovely blog readers! I apologise for my lack of blogging, but I am now finally back online!!!! With that in mind I thought I'd try and get you up to speed with what has been happening in Lex land.

We have now moved into our own little house with it's own garden and it feels fantastic. To say we've only been in just over a week, it really does feel like a home already. Although there's still far too many boxes around for my liking, and an IKEA desk that WILL NOT DEFEAT ME!!!! Hahahaha.

Touch wood WW has been ok during the move, it's been more difficult with just tracking on the paper trackers but I think I've coped quite well all in all.

I have now reached my 50lb goal and lost 3 stone 9lb since I started at Christmas! I am very proud of myself and even more so now that I have reached a size 16 in trousers too. I had never owned a pair of size 16 jeans, that was until I went shopping on Saturday. I now have two pairs!!

Right I promise to blog again very soon as I have missed blogging in all this chaos!

Lots of Love
